There are people who loath the sight of wind turbines. Some people believe that it destroys the wonderful and natural landscape where it is erected. Some people also find wind turbines as noisy as family vehicles traveling at 70mph. But the biggest disadvantage that anyone could reason against putting up wind turbines for wind power is that the amount of wind is not constant. There will be hours or days that the wind would be strong, as in hurricane strong. There would also be hours or days when the wind is as weak as it could get. Ergo, the amount of power supplied could range from a hundred to zero. Another thing, it could be also be argued that the largest wind farm can only supply to a household of about 500. How many wind turbines are needed to supply power in a town or city with a population of 100,000 or more?

 

The Advantages of Wind Power

On the bright side, the advantages of having wind power as the main source of energy are still astounding. If every country would accept wind power technology, tons of advantages and benefits could be enlisted such as: generation of employment for citizens; improve the economy of small businesses that would enable them to grow; it is environmentally helpful as it does not cause any form of pollutants; it will keep the economy safe from the ups and downs of fuel prices; a turbine only consumes a small part of land; the power bills become cheaper; it will help preserve the water supply of a country as it only consumes minimal amount to function unlike the other power generating methods; and many more. If wind power will be used as primary source of energy, imagine the astonishing development it could make. It could definitely be a prime alternative that would help struggling nations to finally find economical balance.
