WorkSafe required an enterprise-grade analytics platform that could serve guided analytics and data profile dashboards to a range of end users, including internal analysts, program leads, and compliance teams.
The platform needed to meet strict security and privacy requirements to handle highly sensitive personal injury and claimant data, and align with WorkSafe’s cloud-first architecture via AWS and Snowflake.
Beyond implementation, WorkSafe needed support with automation fixes, analytics dashboard development, user onboarding, and knowledge transfer to ensure sustainable platform adoption.
Notitia led the end-to-end technical implementation of Qlik Cloud, including:
• Solution architecture design
• Security reviews and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) setup
• Identity integration with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)
• Technical documentation and handover
• Administrator training and how-to video development
Notitia also worked with internal WorkSafe analytics consultants, business users, and our designers to co-develop guided Qlik dashboards across multiple domains including:
• Personal injury
• Claims management
• Provider analysis
A key part of this engagement was Notitia’s design-led approach to dashboard development. At a time when WorkSafe’s internal analytics environment was still evolving, Notitia helped lay the foundation for a more user-centred way of working with data.
Notitia’s designers developed wireframes early in the process to visualise potential user journeys, data structures, and use cases. This helped to align business requirements with technical implementation. Our design-first approach gave stakeholders a clear view of what was possible and invited input before development began.
Dashboards were then co-designed with WorkSafe Victoria’s analytics consultants and program leads, incorporating feedback from subject matter experts across the organisation. This ensured that each dashboard delivered value, was accessible to its intended users, and aligned with operational goals.
This collaborative development approach was backed by best practice documentation and knowledge transfer, ensuring the WorkSafe team could confidently own and evolve their analytics solutions.
Notitia ensured the highest standard of ethical handling of sensitive claimant data. All development was conducted using test data, within WorkSafe environments, and by staff who had completed privacy, cyber, and ethics training.
WorkSafe now operates a secure and well-governed Qlik Cloud Analytics environment integrated with Snowflake, enabling better decisions across health and safety programs.
Qlik Application Automations were deployed, stabilising automated data refresh workflows and reducing risk.
Over 150 users have been trained through hands-on support, videos, and knowledge base resources—improving platform adoption across the enterprise.
• Enterprise-wide Qlik Cloud platform successfully implemented
• Secure identity access and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) integrated with Azure Active Directory (Azure AD)
• Broken automations remediated and ownership transitioned to service account
• Development of new dashboards, following a collaborative co-design approach
• Wireframed and co-designed dashboards developed in partnership with WorkSafe Victoria leads
• Guided dashboards developed across key program areas
• More than 150 users onboarded and trained
• Documentation, shortform videos and detailed, embedded how-to-guides developed
• Platform ownership and sustainability embedded internally
“One of the reasons that we chose Notitia was that they really aligned with our core values. A really important part of choosing a vendor, for us, was making sure that we had someone that we could work really well with and understand what we were trying to do."
WorkSafe Victoria is the state’s health and safety regulator and manages Victoria’s workers' compensation scheme. Its mission is to reduce workplace harm and improve outcomes for injured workers.
