The award is a reflection of what happens when purpose meets data intelligence. It acknowledges Foodbank Victoria’s outstanding use of Qlik Cloud Analytics to deliver real-time insights across their operations — from identifying food shortages to reducing waste and improving efficiency across their supply chain.
Foodbank Victoria distributes over 25 million meals every year through a statewide network of 500 charity partners and more than 1,000 schools. With demand on the rise and finite funding, improving how food is sourced, allocated, and tracked was critical.
Data-Driven Impact: 15% reduction in food cost per kilogram
Working in partnership with Notitia, the team introduced a modern data analytics solution to unlock value across their operations. What followed was a 15% reduction in food cost per kilogram — a tangible outcome made possible by centralising and analysing data from both internal systems and public sources.
“We’ve significantly improved how we get the right food to the right areas using data-driven decision making – and we are now doing it at a lower cost.”
— Kennie Greagen, Applied Research and Innovation Manager, Foodbank Victoria

Smarter Systems, Real-Time Results
Using Qlik Cloud Analytics, Foodbank Victoria built dashboards that visualise real-time food supply and demand across Victoria — highlighting gaps in inventory, forecasting trends, and enabling culturally-appropriate food distribution in communities where it matters most.
The platform supports:
- Fast tracking short-dated products, reducing food waste
- Pinpointing under-served areas based on live need data
- Combining ERP and public data to match supply with demand
- Empowering staff to make localised decisions without needing technical expertise
This data strategy not only streamlines day-to-day operations — it helps shape broader impact by ensuring food relief is equitable, responsive, and aligned to community needs.
“It has empowered our people to better understand local food demand and respond rapidly," Ms Greagen says.
As Foodbank Victoria’s data transformation partner, Notitia worked closely with their internal teams to understand existing systems, map new workflows, and deploy a Qlik Cloud Analytics environment that could scale with demand.
The collaboration brought together deep sector knowledge, human-centred design, and technical delivery, Notitia Managing Director, Alex Avery said.
“Foodbank Victoria is a world-class example of using data for public good,” he said.
“Their expert team brought bold ideas and a clear mission — we’re proud to have supported their transformation and to see this well-deserved global recognition.
Awarded in the United States at the Qlik Connect 2025 event, the Global Impact Award recognises organisations that are harnessing the power of data to make a positive difference.
Foodbank Victoria’s entry stood out for its community-scale outcomes, internal innovation, and commitment to delivering measurable impact, Charlie Farah, Qlik's Field CTO - Analytics and AI, said.
“Foodbank Victoria’s use of Qlik Cloud Analytics is a powerful example of how data can drive meaningful social impact at scale," he said
"This isn’t just a win for Foodbank Victoria — it’s a win for every Australian who relies on food relief."
