Helen Dockrell Named SA 40 Under 40 Winner | Notitia | Celebrating inclusive leadership, innovation, and impact in data and digital transformation.

Notitia Director Helen Dockrell has been named one of South Australia’s 40 Under 40 for 2025.

The title recognises Helen’s leadership in shaping the state’s data and digital innovation through analytics, development and design across public, private and social sectors.

Ms Dockrell congratulated her fellow 40 Under 40 finalists and award recipients.

“Well done to all 40 under 40 finalists and award winners, I’m proud to be included alongside these inspiring South Australians,” Ms Dockrell said.

“This award is a reflection of the brilliant people I get to work with every day who use data and technology to make a positive impact in the world around them.”

The 40 Under 40 is a globally recognised program that celebrates the passion, vision and achievements of South Australia’s young entrepreneurs and leaders, who will grow and shape the future of the state.

The 2025 cohort represents a cross-section of the state’s best and brightest from across healthcare, science, tech, business, creative industries and social impact.

At Notitia, Ms Dockrell has led some of the firm’s most complex public sector projects including healthcare analytics, human-centred design for accessible digital tools, and data capability-building for environmental and regulatory agencies.

A champion for diverse pathways into tech, Ms Dockrell is committed to mentoring early-career professionals and supporting return-to-work parents, veterans, and career changers through inclusive hiring and team development.

“My career journey has shaped how I lead. I’m strongly committed to creating space for different perspectives, backgrounds, and lived experiences, Ms Dockrell said.

“Diversity, and supporting diversity, isn’t a checkbox — it’s a strength. It leads to better thinking, stronger teams, and more effective, sustainable outcomes.

“This recognition reinforces that you can lead with empathy, take a people-first approach, set clear boundaries, and deliver hard results. That’s exactly why Notitia has been able to grow and make a real impact.”

Notitia’s diverse workforce reflects that commitment having achieved longstanding gender parity across their teams, alongside inclusive workplace practices including becoming a Veteran Employment Supporter under the Australian Government’s Veteran Employment Commitment (VEC).

Notitia Managing Director Alex Avery said the award recognises Ms Dockrell’s rare combination of technical expertise and people-led leadership.

“Helen has shaped how Notitia delivers data and digital transformation in a way that’s ethical, inclusive, and focused on long-term impact.

“She is trusted by clients and teams to deliver results. Notitia’s high performing workplace is the result of Helen’s commitment to building a diverse and inclusive environment which supports our team to thrive.”

Mr Avery said that Notitia was founded on the belief that data and technology should make a meaningful difference — not just in business, but in people’s lives.

“Notitia works across sectors where the stakes are high including healthcare, environment, government, and community. We take that responsibility very seriously,” he said.

“Our team is inclusive and diverse by design, our methods are people-first, and our work is grounded in solving the right problems with clarity and integrity.

“This recognition is truly well deserved, and is a reflection of Helen’s values in action” Mr Avery said.

Based in Adelaide, Helen is passionate about contributing to place-based organisations, and local initiatives aimed at creating a stronger, digitally connected state.

“We work with organisations that are doing critical work, from healthcare, hospitals and government to grassroots community services. The role of technology is to support real people to do what they do better,” Ms Dockrell said.

“What excites me is using digital tools to make life fairer, easier, and more connected — especially in a state like South Australia where innovation can be place-based and truly meaningful.

“This award is about what’s possible when strategy, technology, and people come together. I’m grateful to be part of that conversation in South Australia,” she said.

Helen Dockrell, Director at Notitia, leads major data and digital transformation projects across government, healthcare, private, and not-for-profit. Based on the ground in Adelaide, she has helped deliver national-scale analytics platforms, improve public sector decision-making, and strengthen data governance in high-stakes environments.

Helen is driving workforce diversity in tech through inclusive hiring, workplace practices and active mentorship, and was named one of South Australia’s 2025 40 Under 40.
