Analytics Consultant

Full Time Permanent - Melbourne or Adelaide

About Us

Notitia is looking for an Analytics Consultant, who is early in their career and has a few years of practical experience. We are a young consulting business which has grown from a founder to a team of a dozen, serving over 100 clients across Australia. We have offices in Melbourne and Adelaide, and work with all leading data and analytics platforms to develop data-driven solutions that genuinely improve clients decision making and outcomes.

Our team will be there to support you and to help you troubleshoot, debug, and brainstorm. However, your day-to-day will involve an independent work style - you’ll be given the space to work on a project, with check-ins as required. You’ll work closely with a team who are on the tools and driven to find the best approach to solve the technical challenges our clients face. We don’t believe in meetings for the sake of meetings; we don’t believe in processes that don’t add clear value; and you will be trusted from day one to work independently.

Why Notitia?

In addition to working on a broad range of interesting and varied projects, we take a proactive approach to developing the skills and experience of all our people. You’ll have the opportunity to develop your role in directions that interest you. We don’t believe that seniority should mean management by default, so role development is tailored to what you are looking for as an individual. You’ll also collaborate directly with our other specialist teams from Strategy, Development and Design to broaden your experience and allow you to see the whole picture in your work.

We firmly believe in flexible working. You’ll be expected in the office on Monday to start the week, and then on Wednesday for our weekly Wednesday lunch. We come together for an annual offsite in June/July, and at Christmas, where we shut down properly and gift you annual leave over this period. We have annual Wellness Day “public holidays” with complimentary spa & restaurant vouchers, additional leave to reflect your tenure, up to six months of paid parental leave, and have and are willing to sponsor those needing a visa.

Your Skillset

You’ll have had some exposure to programming/coding. You will be interested in growing your knowledge, and technical skills. You’re likely from a quantitative background, and are able to translate requirements into data, and data into insights and value. As a consulting company, we respond to clients’ needs and also to the limitations of their pre-existing systems - you’ll need to be happy to learn on the job and to code in ways that you’re new to.

Our Analytics team will walk you through our current development workflow - there’s no expectation that you’ll have experience with our exact technology stack, but we do expect that you’ll be willing to get up to speed on the job so that we’ve got a consistent company approach.

You’ll work alongside a Design team who will assist you with aesthetic and UX aspects of the solution, and our Development team who will help with any specific customisations and cloud integration.

Technical skills central to the work you’ll be doing:
• Databricks development
• Snowflake development
• SQL development
• R/Python development
• PowerBI development
• Qlik development
• Data modelling
• Azure Functions

Non-Technical skills central to the work you’ll be doing:
• Requirements gathering
• Technical and non-technical writing for the purpose of developing internal and external Knowledge Bases
• Contributing to Knowledge Bases development
• Documentation of your work
• Research as appropriate into industry standards, concepts

Behavioural traits we’re looking for:
• Being able to take technical and non-technical direction
• Working collaboratively
• Working in a way that allows for easy handover to others internally and externally
• Confidence to present technical concepts to external clients
• Hunger to learn and eagerness to upskill
• Alignment to our Company Values
