SNAICC – Using data to strengthen advocacy
Award: Excellence in Providing Better Outcomes with Data
Project: National Data Lake Platform (Qlik Cloud Analytics)
SNAICC – National Voice for our Children – was recognised for its groundbreaking Data Lake platform, designed and delivered in partnership with Notitia.
The platform enables SNAICC’s teams to visualise and use data in ways that strengthen their advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities. Built using Qlik Cloud Analytics, the Data Lake is both powerful and practical — providing secure, centralised access to data that supports storytelling, policy, and evidence-based reform.
What makes this platform different is its cultural and human-centred approach. From the beginning, the design process focused on how people would use the data — not just how it would be stored or displayed. Every dashboard and visualisation was co-designed with SNAICC’s team to reflect how they work, communicate, and engage with stakeholders.
The platform aligns with Priority Reform 4 of the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, which focuses on strengthening the community-controlled sector. It also supports SNAICC’s long-term goal of ensuring that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are reflected in the data that shapes policy.
“This project shows what’s possible when technology is designed with people and purpose at its centre,” said Alex Avery, accepting the award on SNAICC’s behalf.
By combining strong data governance with accessible visualisation, the platform allows SNAICC to turn complex data into clear, evidence-backed insights that can influence national decision-making. It’s data in service of community — designed to drive advocacy, empowerment, and real-world change.
DEWR – Designing for Digital Inclusion
Award: Excellence in Digital Inclusion and Accessibility
Project: Employment Services Reporting Website (Qlik Analytics Platform Mashups)
The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) received the award for Excellence in Digital Inclusion and Accessibility for its redesign of the Employment Services Reporting website, delivered in partnership with Notitia.
The project reimagined how Employment Service Providers and government users access and interpret program data — shifting from a clunky, difficult-to-navigate system to an interactive, accessible platform powered by Qlik.
Accessibility was built in from day one. The redesigned site prioritises usability, responsiveness, and modern relevance, ensuring that anyone, regardless of digital literacy, language, or device, can confidently access employment data.
The new platform features dynamic filters, interactive mapping, and a clear, mobile-friendly interface that helps providers connect diverse Australians to the support they need, quickly and easily.
As a live solution, the site is simplifying the user experience, and easing demand on DEWR’s internal support teams.
Importantly, the platform was built to last. Its modular, scalable design means new programs or reporting filters can be added without redevelopment, ensuring sustainability as employment services evolve.
This project is a model for accessible government design, showing how Qlik analytics and human-centred thinking can transform public services when inclusion is built in from the start.
Netball Victoria – Building a modern data culture
Award: Qlik Analytics Modernisation
Project: Data Strategy, Analytics Modernisation and Automation Program (Qlik Cloud Analytics)
Netball Victoria was recognised for modernising its entire analytics environment through a multi-stage transformation program with Notitia.
What began as a project to consolidate data evolved into a complete rethink of how information flows through the organisation. Using Qlik Cloud Analytics, Netball Victoria developed a centralised data strategy and governance framework that connects participation, finance, and operations into a single, reliable view.
For staff, that means the end of fragmented spreadsheets and manual reporting. Teams now have real-time dashboards and automated processes that free them to focus on what matters most — growing the game.
Beyond technology, this project represents a cultural shift. By empowering non-technical users with intuitive tools, Netball Victoria has created a foundation for better decision-making, increased accountability, and a stronger connection between data and community outcomes.
As one of Victoria’s leading sporting bodies, their transformation is setting the standard for how sport can use data to foster inclusion, participation, and growth across all levels of the game.
Data-driven change with purpose
From community advocacy and public sector reform to sport and participation, these projects show that data transformation isn’t about dashboards — it’s about impact.
Each organisation approached their challenge differently, but all shared a focus on accessibility, inclusion, and long-term sustainability. The outcomes are tangible: clearer insights, improved efficiency, and more confident decision-making across every level of their teams.
At Notitia, we’re proud to partner with organisations that lead with purpose — those using data and design to solve real-world problems and deliver value to the communities they serve.
Congratulations to SNAICC, DEWR, and Netball Victoria on their well-deserved recognition at the 2025 Qlik ANZ Digital Transformation Awards!
