From cloud innovation to real-world outcomes, Qlik Connect 2025 delivered more than product updates — it offered clarity on where analytics is heading next and why that matters for Australia.
One of the biggest moments for us? Seeing our client, Foodbank Victoria, named the first Australian organisation to win a Global Impact Award at the event — recognised for using Qlik Cloud to reduce food costs by 15% and deliver smarter food relief to Victorians.

Held in Orlando, Florida, the conference was packed with insights for anyone working in analytics, AI, or digital transformation.
Notitia Director Pierre du Preez attended in person to hear directly from Qlik leadership, customers, and partners — and to explore how these shifts can support our work across healthcare, government, Aboriginal services, FMCG, and not-for-profit.
Here’s what stood out, and how it connects to the way we build data products for Australian clients.
1. From dashboards to decisions
We’ve known for years that dashboards alone aren’t enough. What Qlik emphasised this year is how their platform — now deeply integrated with AI — is moving us from” just seeing data” to “acting on it”.
Keynote speaker, Qlik CEO, Mike Capone, had a clear message: it's time to focus on execution, momentum, and outcomes. In other words, less theory, more tangible value.
What this means for Notitia’s clients:
- Whether you’re in aged care, food relief, or infrastructure — analytics must now translate directly into smarter, faster, and better decisions.
- New writeback functionality, improved time-series forecasting, and cloud-native performance give you the power to do more — without waiting on developers or approvals.
- The addition of Agentic AI promises a future where teams can delegate tasks to AI assistants across roles — from finance to fieldwork — enhancing human capability, not replacing it.
2. AI isn’t all hype — It’s getting practical
One of the most grounded sessions featured Ritu Jyoti from IDC, who summed it up beautifully:
“AI is becoming the new calculator — but we’re still learning how to use it properly.”
The big takeaway? Generative AI may be getting the headlines, but it’s Agentic AI — built into workflows — that’s quietly transforming how teams operate.
We saw this firsthand in:
- Qlik Answers, which blends structured and unstructured data for user-specific insights.
- Write Table, which lets teams collaboratively update cloud dashboards in real time.
- End-user interfaces that now capture feedback, suggest improvements, and drive better design decisions.
3. Cloud analytics for real-world impact
One of the most memorable case studies was Reworld, a US-based environmental company using Qlik to unify data from 90 newly merged facilities. The result? Faster, centralised decision-making across thousands of employees — all in the cloud.
For Australian businesses and public sector clients, this story hits close to home. Many are grappling with legacy systems, inconsistent reporting, and a lack of internal resourcing.
Notitia’s own work mirrors this shift:
- We’ve helped Foodbank Victoria reduce food cost per kilogram by 15% using Qlik Cloud — winning them a Global Impact Award at the same event.
- We’ve supported healthcare, including West Gippsland Healthcare Group, to rapidly deploy dashboards and free up staff capacity.
- We’re building cloud-native visualisation tools like PlotBeam to make live insights available to everyone — not just analysts.
4. Iceberg, Upsolver, and the New Data Lakehouse
Let’s talk tech for a moment.
Qlik’s recent acquisitions — Talend, Kyndi, Upsolver — show a clear direction: Open data, governed pipelines, and real-time performance at scale.
The announcement of Qlik Open Lakehouse, which goes GA in July, means you can now:
- Handle millions of data events per second
- Build ‘always-on’ declarative pipelines
- Save on storage costs and boost query speed — by up to 5x
It’s technical, yes. But it’s also about removing the barriers between operational systems and analysis. No more ETL delays. No more guessing. Just smarter infrastructure, faster outcomes.
5. Why this matters for Australia
We’re vendor-agnostic by design. But events like Qlik Connect let us stay close to where the product is going — and test what’s useful in a real-world setting.
Pierre du Preez, Notitia Director, said attending the event was a reinforcement of the capability of the Notitia team.
“The best part of Qlik Connect was seeing how global clients are making a measurable impact with data,” he said.
“It reinforces that what we’re doing with our Australian clients is on the right track — especially in healthcare, NFPs and government.
“There’s no need to wait for overseas trends to reach us. We’re already there.”
The standout message from Qlik Connect 2025?
Take the lead. Keep the lead. That came from guest speaker Katie Ledecky, Olympic gold medallist and data-obsessed athlete who trains with metrics and journaling. Her story reminded everyone that success isn’t just about big moments — it’s about refining every step.
At Notitia, we couldn’t agree more. Whether we’re building a custom dashboard, streamlining your reporting, or designing a new data product, we focus on what matters: solving the right problems, in the right way, for the right impact.
We’re helping clients across Australia modernise their BI stack, improve reporting, and use data to drive better decisions. Need help with your tech environment or data transformation? Get in touch with our team!
